This month has raced by and I’m still struggling to achieve the targets I set myself, as the short days, long nights, poor light and very bad storms have taken up too much time to make room for my ambitions. On top of all this my hearing had deteriorated causing additional problems but happily that set- back has been rectified and all is well again. I have all but finished the two portraits of Lennon and McCartney but I am still delaying officially releasing them as I’m not yet totally satisfied, and have set them aside in the following states:-
My next thought was to produce a landscape to make up a trilogy of similar works and I decided on a Scottish loch and this is what it will be based on, Castle Stalker in Loch Linnhe.
This castle may be familiar to people of my generation at it was one of the film locations for Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I’m hoping to brighten the skies a little and use some artistic licence in the composition here and there. This is how it looks today.
My time has also been consumed with other artistic matters as I have been asked to prepare a talk about my life and work as a visual artist which I have to give towards the end of March so I have also been thinking about what I shall say and collecting the materials and work that I will be taking along to this event. Quite a daunting challenge!
