About

I am an artist from Kent who spent most of my career in the music business working with publishers and, at times, some of their famous composers and songwriters. Although I have always painted, I am now indulging myself doing what I love for much of the time!

I have exhibited in the South East and Central London, selling works and raising money for various charities and wildlife conservation.
I have also carried out many commissions for portraits and other specially chosen subjects. A few of them are shown in the Commission section. Most of my work, whether figurative or abstract, has been inspired by my other great interest, music. One of these music based abstract paintings based on the life of the composer Richard Strauss, was featured in a BBC Promenade Concert television broadcast.

Although my style and subject matter constantly change, the approach is simple – I paint what I like following the advice given by Sir Peter Blake to one of his art students, Ian Dury, the flamboyant cult pop singer/songwriter. I can express my ideas and feelings best by painting subjects that I find irresistible using brushes, fingers, rags and palette knives, often accompanied by the sound of music!
